Twas The Night Before Milk Street

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the web,
Not a marketer was browsing, not even on Reddit.
The emails were cued up into MailChimp with care,
In hopes that new business, soon would be there.

The content was nestled all snug in its bed,
While visions of click through rates danced in our heads.
The marketers with their coffee, and screens in their lap,
Had just settled our brains for a long weekend’s nap.

Then out to the inbox arose such a notification,
I sprang from my desk to see who would open.
Away to the dashboard I flew like a flash,
Typed in the domain and threw up the tab.

The info on the screen of my MacBook Pro
Gave the lustre of mid-day to the info it showed.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a landing page report, with eighty new views

With a little old refresh, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment our email was sick
More rapid than eagles the responses they came,
And I whistled, and shouted, and called out our names!

“Now, Ryan! now, Dustin! now, Jen, Zave and Will!
On, Taylor! On, Jesse! On, Pam, Bob and Baron!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now all to the dashboard, to the dashboard for all!”

The best wishes returned as the email did fly,
When they met with my laptop, brought tears to my eye.
So up to the reply my cursor it flew,
With the wishes of joy, and Happy New Year too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on my phone
The buzzing and ringing of each little text.
As I unlocked my iPhone, and was tapping the screen,
Through the FaceTime app St Nicholas could be seen.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
But with so much technology, no more he could put.
A bundle of devices he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a developer, just downloading an app.

He spoke with a chuckle, about all of his work,
“I filled all the stockings, of everyone you know.
With your HTML email, saying Ho Ho Ho”
Then giving a tap, away he did go.

I sprang to my Facebook, to update my status,
“I just FaceTimed Santa, it really just happened.”
And they heard me exclaim, as I closed out the site,
“Happy Christmas from Milk Street, from Milk Street good-night!
