Every time I receive a notification from LinkedIn, I see various status updates from my connections. Some of them are about someone starting a new position at a company, or that someone checked my profile, while some are about congratulating someone for their work anniversary. A couple of years ago, when I was still in college, I used to ask myself, “When will I be able to show people updates on my account and celebrate my work anniversary?” I have to admit, whenever I saw those notifications, I felt a little jealous because I wasn’t as “successful” as other people in my network. And today, that jealousy is gone as it has been exactly one year since I started working on Milk Street!
I still remember vividly the moment that I met the team for the first time. There was something very different about that meeting as they had an interest in who I was and what I enjoyed doing, rather than my experience at a marketing agency. It was also during that meeting that I realized that Milk Street wasn’t looking for an employee who jumps from job to job, firm to firm, or just to move up and change things around. They were looking for someone who wanted to learn, grow and be part of building something special. After a long conversation with Ron Bauman, Milk Street’s Founder and Principal, I fell in love with the idea of becoming part of this team.

This company, and its collaborative working environment, was the start of my professional career and while there were days that things didn’t turn out as awesome as we thought they would, everyone on Milk Street has been so supportive in pushing me to do my best. I have enjoyed every minute of every day and after one year of working on Milk Street, and I wake up every morning excited to get out of bed and get to work. I have big dreams, and I can’t wait to accomplish them here with my team on Milk Street!
I take great pride in seeing how much I have grown and what we have achieved over the past year. It’s flown by so fast, though, so I think I may just take today to stop and enjoy #LifeOnMilkStreet.

Nah….there’s too much work to do!!
