Ep 3 – International Branding

International branding was the topic for this episode of This Week on Milk Street.

We had quite an action-packed week here on Milk Street so there was a lot to catch up on before we dove into the topic at hand. Between our Marketshare Meetup, our co-working at Connie’s, and the Zave Smith portrait project, our week filled up rather quickly.  And to top off the week (and how appropriate given the topic at hand) we have a music and food showcase straight out of Italy.

If a company does not spend time on their international branding, there can be some grave consequences. Some words and catchphrases take on whole new meanings in different countries and it’s important to do your research. You do not want to offend millions of people at a time! Ron found a list of some of the biggest international branding fails, and they are a hilarious lesson learned.

Local music on this episode: The Late Saints, Giada J, and P.I.C.

This Week on Milk Street airs every Monday at 4pm ET on Gashouse Radio. Be sure to tune in and participate! You can call in at 888-9-GASHOUSE, or use #Milkpod on Facebook or Twitter. We would be happy to discuss your marketing challenges, and we’d love to hear what you think of ours.
