Facebook’s New Posting Feature

Get more click throughs on your Facebook posts!

In recent years, Facebook has become a great tool for businesses and organizations to engage its audiences with industry updates, news and events. In the past, posting a link to a web page, whether it be your business page or a page related to your business, the image for the post was automatically generated from the web page’s “featured image.” This is usually set in the website’s content management system (e.g. WordPress). Photos are one of the most responsive pieces of  content, and are a great way to get users to click through to an online destination. Although you already had the ability to swap that image out for another by uploading a new image, now you can share even more! FB’s new posting feature now allows page administrators to upload multiple images when including a website or landing page.

Maybe your linking to a landing page that has a slideshow – well now you can imitate that slideshow on Facebook! Or you are linking to an event and want to feature multiple bands’ pictures on your post – now you can. In fact that’s exactly what Connie’s Ric Rac did on their FB profile page. Here’s just a peak and what the new feature looks like.

To really check it out and actually flip through the pictures, visit their Facebook page.

This has an immediate impact with advertisers who want to display a variety of marketing messages, in hopes of driving more traffic to their website or pages. Furthermore, it seems as if Facebook has also eliminated the text validation requirement for sponsored posts. This will have huge ramifications for Facebook marketers.  With Facebook’s new posting feature, businesses can expand their social media presence in a way previously impossible.

How will you utilize Facebook’s new posting feature? We would love to hear from you in the comment section!
