Ep 7 – Facebook Events

#MilkPod Ep 7 -Facebook Events

Team Milk Street have been very busy lately with our Experiential Marketing projects. When promoting these special events, we spent some time creating Facebook events and realize that this is definitely a topic for the podcast.

This past week weekend Milk Street Marketing organized 2 large events. On Friday we held our monthly #FirstFriday series at Connie’s Ric Rac. This month’s showcase was a little unique; we launched a 10 Year Anniversary campaign for Connie’s Ric Rac and announced a new project called Junto Music (Junto Music is a unique marketing tool that we’ll discuss more over the net few weeks). This was a large production and required quite a bit of promotion, including Facebook events. We ran into some issues hen boosting this post and we want to hear other experiences fro our listeners.

On Saturday night we hosted the launch of the Smokey Pint Backyard BBQ Series, or #BYBBQ. This weekly event runs all summer and celebrates craft food, craft beer and live music and who doesn’t enjoy eating BBQ, drinking outside and listening to some live music? When marketing this event we were faced with a decision – should we create Facebook events every week, or should we create one Facebook event, date for the end of the summer and use it to promote every Saturday in the summer?

We want to hear from you. What has been your experiences using Facebook events? Any advice for marketers out there using them to promote events? How do you keep up with the changes? Please use #Milkpod and tell us your thoughts.

With the leftover time at the end, we paid our respects to the QR Code. We try to figure out why the QR Code was such a short-lived tool. And are robots the only thing that can keep these ugly iimprints alive?

Small business plugs this week: Smokey Pint, Connie’s Ric Rac

Music on today’s episode from Johnny Showcase & The Mystic Ticket, Railroad Fever, and Magnificent Birds of Prey.

This Week on Milk Street airs live every Monday at 1pm ET. Use #MilkPod to become part of the conversation at any time.
